Admission Status Portal 
Be sure to check your Admission Status Portal regularly. Beyond the admission notification, your status portal is also where you’ll find notifications for merit scholarships and need-based financial aid awards, if applicable.

 

Merit Scholarships and Financial Aid 
Scholarships: If you meet the posted scholarship requirements, you should receive your Merit Scholarship award notification within one week of your acceptance. Be sure to check your admitted student portal for new scholarship notifications, information, and updates.

Need-Based Financial Aid: To be considered for grants, work-study programs, and low-interest student and parent loans, families must provide financial information through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Be sure to request your Federal Student Aid PIN before you get started with your FAFSA. For more tips and information, please refer to How to Apply for Financial Aid on our Financial Aid website. Southwestern’s number is 003620.

Financial Aid Awards: If you qualify for financial aid, you will receive a comprehensive financial aid award from Southwestern. Financial aid notifications will be delivered through your admitted student portal beginning. Once you receive your financial aid information, be sure to review it carefully.

Official Transcript Evaluation
After a student is admitted, the Southwestern Registrar’s Office will conduct an official evaluation of all of your previous college coursework and a complete credit audit will be emailed to you. Be sure to submit all final semester transcripts to Southwestern for credit evaluation.

Making Your Decision 
Once you’ve received your scholarship, financial aid, and transcript evaluation, it’s time to make your decision. Submitting your Enrollment Deposit ($700 for living on-campus as a resident or $450 for living off-campus as a non-resident) is the first step in your new student experience. This action allows you to be placed in your Advanced-Entry Seminar, register for classes, and much more. Visit the Southwestern My Decision page to let us know of your college-going plans and to pay your enrollment deposit by credit card. 

*Important: Do not submit an enrollment deposit until you have received an official transcript evaluation and a scholarship/financial aid notification.

Visit Opportunities 
A college visit is a chance to test-drive Southwestern: you may attend a class, talk with current students, meet with a professor, coach, or admission counselor. The Office of Admission will make all the arrangements for your visit to Southwestern. We offer plenty of ways for you to experience campus, so choose the visit that’s right for you. 

During the school year, you may schedule visits Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and 10 a.m. on Saturday. Saturday visits are available through April.
