King Creativity Fund
Our annual King Creativity Grants provide Southwestern students with generous financial support for innovative and visionary interdisciplinary projects.
The King Creativity Fund empowers students to pursue projects that stretch disciplinary boundaries or combine traditional academic methods with new approaches. With grants based on the budget proposed by each individual or group, King Creativity supports the design and creation of new objects or tools, new processes, new communication strategies, new performances or works of art, new narratives (e.g., films, writing projects, multimedia stories, or podcasts), and new solutions to problems. These generous grants also support projects that demonstrate imagination:
- the willingness to tackle problems in unorthodox ways
- an enthusiasm for experimenting with or combining different skills and approaches
- a readiness to take risks
- an openness to new perspectives
- an interest in innovation
Grant recipients will present their visionary projects at the annual King Creativity Symposium and at the spring Research and Creative Works Symposium—both rewarding opportunities for students to share their work with the Southwestern community.
