Jason Schayot , Richardson, TX, was named a semifinalist for the Recording Academy and Grammy Museum’s 2022 Music Educator Award. Katherine Altobello , Austin, TX, was the mezzo-soprano soloist in a performance of J.S. Bach’s Cantata BWV 79 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church. Marisela Orta , Lockhart, TX, wrote an audio play titled Nightfall that was commissioned by Amazon’s Audible and is now streaming on the platform. She also was recently selected to join a national playwriting circle hosted by the Latino Theater Company at the Los Angeles Theatre Center and will write a newly commissioned play as part of that resi- dency. She recently completed her residency as a core writer at the Playwrights’ Center in Minneapolis, MN. Her play Somewhere will be produced this fall at Skidmore College. Chrystal Hall Doyle , Glen Allen, VA, graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a master of science in nursing. She is now a board-certified family nurse practitioner at Cumberland Hospital for Children and Adolescents in New Kent, VA, 2003 2004 1997 1999 1996 2000 where she manages the concurrent acute and chronic medical conditions of patients with significant neurodevelopmental, behavioral, and mental health needs. Michael T. Nguyen , San Francisco, CA, was instrumental in organizing the nation’s first- ever Queer and Transgender Asian and Pacific Islanders Week, which was celebrated May 22–29, 2021. The dates were chosen to fall within Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and ahead of Pride Month in June. Lizette Torres Goodloe , San Antonio, TX, earned her doctor of education in sports management with an emphasis in leadership from the United States Sports Academy. Johnathan Kana , Lexington, TX, coauthored a chapter in the book Community Music at the Boundaries . The chapter, titled “Life within These Walls: Community Music-Making as a Bridge of Healing and Transformation in Prison Contexts,” examines the authors’ experiences with the Oakdale Community Choir, based in an Iowa prison and composed of both community volunteers and inmates. The choir premiered Kana’s original choral composition “Life within These Walls” in 2017. Erin Crockett , Georgetown, TX, associate professor of psychology, Tyler Norman ’20, and Monique Pollmann, assistant professor at Tilburg University, published the article “Reading between the Lines: The Effects of Texting on Relationship Satisfaction and Understanding in Romantic Couples” in Computers in Human Behavior Reports .
