Katherine Altobello, Austin, TX, is a part-time instructor of applied music at Southwestern University and was the guest mezzo-soprano in Congregation Beth Israel’s virtual High Holy Day services, September 18–28, 2020. Altobello was honored to make music along- side conductor Jeffrey Jones-Ragona, collaborative pianist Maimy Fong, and canto- rial soloist Sarah Beth Avner. Berenice Tostado Yu , Houston, TX, became the chief operating officer of Avenue, a midsized nonprofit developing affordable housing and providing services that improve the quality of life of the individuals in the communities it serves. BIRTH: Melissa Whited and her partner, Emily Lammert, Melrose, MA, welcomed a baby girl, Eleanor, into the world on June 10, 2020. Melinda Brou , Kingsville, TX, was promoted to full professor of voice and opera beginning fall 2020 at Texas A&M University–Kingsville. She has also recently been named governor-elect for the Texoma region (Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico) of the National Association of Teachers of Singing. Katy Frosch Longley , Spring Branch, TX, is now serving North East Independent School District in San Antonio as a teacher of the deaf and hard of hearing for students in kindergarten through high school. BIRTH: Megan Schubert Leese and Ben Leese, Brooklyn, NY, welcomed Abigail Kara Jane on September 17, 2020. Elizabeth Dinn Marsh , San Antonio, TX, published her first children’s book, The Whizzy Dizzy Bike Ride . She has now relo- cated back to Stamford to continue working with the channel, which is part of the NBC Sports Group.
