1972 Claire Peel , Georgetown, TX, has retired from her role as senior vice provost for academic and faculty affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth. During the summer of 2020, she moved to Georgetown to serve as executive director for assessment and accreditation at the Austin campus of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. Peel joined Southwestern’s Board of Trustees in July 2020. Andy Welch , Georgetown, TX, received the Key Communicator Award from the Texas School Public Relations Association. The award recognizes outstanding contributions to public education through effective communications. 1985 Adrianne Jones , King of Prussia, PA, has been named chief admissions officer for the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. 1989 Matt Motes , Fort Worth, TX, is now a partner with Shackelford, Bowen, McKinley, & Norton, LLP, where he practices construction law. 1976 1979 Donald Sherwood , Mansfield, TX, was honored by the International Right of Way Association as the W. Howard Armstrong Instructor of the Year. Sherwood has been an instructor for over 20 years and recently taught at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University. Keith Boone , Dallas, TX, retired from the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church after 38 years of full-time ministry. Boone continues to serve on the board of directors for Methodist Health System and CC Young in addition to working part-time at White Rock United Methodist Church in east Dallas. 1987 1992 John Janssen , Portland, TX, wrote an article titled “Protecting Students fromDiscrimination, Harassment, and Retaliation: A Checklist for Compliance with Federal Laws” that appeared in the March 2020 issue of Inquiry & Analysis , a publication of the National School Boards Association Council of School Attorneys. Ed Youngblood , Auburn, AL, was promoted to full professor at Auburn University, where he has taught in the media studies program since 2008. He has authored or coauthored two books and more than 20 book chapters and articles. His current research focuses on media usability and accessibility. 1991 Tracie Shelton , San Antonio, TX, recently celebrated two years in business. Shelton opened Alamo Kitchens in July 2018 to provide a licensed commercial facility for chefs and foodmakers to prepare their products. Brent Bledsoe , Madison, WI, joined Epic Systems Corporation, a leading electronic health record software company, as a quality assurance software tester on the Beacon Oncology application. 1977 Jim Ewbank , Spicewood, TX, retired in 2018 after 38 years of practicing law, and his wife, Orlinda Naranjo, retired after 24 years as a district court judge. They divide their time between Lake Travis and the mountains of Chama, NM. Michial Meyer , Cedar Park, TX, retired from the Texas Retired Teachers Association District 13 board in July 2020.
