Common Data Set

Institutions of higher education provide a common data set to those who are seeking information, thus reducing the reporting burden. The Common Data Set includes information on a college’s enrollment, library holdings, housing, tuition, financial aid, class size and degrees conferred. (updated 12/2024)

Factbook

The Southwestern University Factbook provides statistical and graphical information about undergraduate enrollment, admissions, academic majors and minors, faculty, and other topics. The Factbook serves as an official source of information for students, faculty, and staff. (updated 10/2024)

Institutional Dashboards

The Institutional Dashboard includes a variety of data, figures, and graphics with context to assist in planning, decision making, and priority setting. The information included in the dashboard is shared with the Board of Trustees annually.

Class Profile

A two-page historical profile of first-year students at the University with respect to academic performance, standardized testing, minority representation, financial aid distribution, and geographic distribution. These data are generated by the Office of Admission. (updated 11/2023)

Retention Rates

Historical profiles of the enrollment counts and persistence percentages of students by entering first-year and transfer cohort. (updated 1/2025)

  • A Data Walk on Student Retention at Southwestern 

    The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness hosted a data walk on December 4, 2024 for the campus community. A data walk is a tool that shares data with stakeholders in an accessible, purposeful way to encourage understanding and discussion of data relevant to their lives. Sharing data with the Southwestern community can: 

    Empower stakeholders with information about Southwestern; Help the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness use stakeholder feedback from the data to improve their analysis and methods for future data collection; Inspire further discussion or action around areas of concern to inform practices and improvement.

Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) Report
